Yearbook Cameras
All students will be able to enjoy a higher quality memento of their middle school years, via our yearbook. (Our entire book is online, and students are able to navigate the placement of pictures, captions and information online. Cameras continue to be a stumbling block on our road to yearbook success).
Once the cameras are purchased, yearbook staff will check out a camera through the yearbook advisers. Teachers in each grade level would monitor the cameras. Depending on the events at school, sometimes there is a demand for six cameras (two per grade level).
With better cameras to use, advisers would expect a higher check out rate of cameras, staff would be visible on campus taking pictures, and the frustration level of yearbook staff members would plummet.
Yearbook at our school is a self-funded account. Usually, it operates at around a break-even point. Sales of yearbook are used to pay our yearbook company, our advisers a small stipend, and supplies. This tight budget leaves little or no money for one of the most essential tools needed: cameras. Currently, our digital cameras are old, slow and annoying. It's difficult to teach modern day technology with anitquated equipment. We'd like to purchase new digital cameras for our student yearbook staff to use at school.
Yearbook includes all curriculum areas, all sports, music, physical education and ELD. Our book is all inclusive.
