Spanish Magazines
We wish to provide the TWI classes at North Tahoe School with more Spanish language reading material. There is no Spanish Language Arts curriculum for the sixth grade, so that is the main priority. The 4th and 5th grade classes will also use the materials to suppliment their reading selections in Spanish.
We will purchase two subscriptions of Spanish Language Magazines to be read by 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students in the TWI classes at North Tahoe School. There 30 copies of 12 issues of Magazines that can be shared by four classes.
The students will enjoy reading in Spanish and improve in Spanish Reading comprehension.
There are no Spanish Language Arts materials for the 6th grade Two-Way Immersion class. I would like to subscribe to two Spanish language magazines for my class to have rading material that is at their level. These magazines could be reused for years, and would provide and inexpensive way to get reading material at the appropriate level in Spanish. Each subscription comes with 6 issues for each student and a teacher's guide. The magazines are leved appropriately for 6th grade TWI students.
The three TWI teachers who plan to use the magazines will discuss and plan appropriate lessons to use with the materials.
