Grant Description:

The third grade team at Tahoe Lake is always looking for ways to enhance our science and social studies curriculum.  One way we do that is with hands on projects, but we need funding for supplies to complete these projects.  Some of the projects include:  moon models, relief maps of the Tahoe basin, science projects relating to matter and energy.

How does this grant tie into your PLC:

At our PLC we are always discussing ways to enhance and enrich our curriculum.  This is one of the ways we feel we can make our science and social studies curriculum more meaningful and intersting.

Notes:
Some of the items I am requesting are perishable and bulky and most can be purchased at the local grocery store. I would like to get a gift card at Safeway or SaveMart, then we can purchase the items as we need them for the experiments. I know this has been an issue in the past and am wondering if there is a way to make this work this year. Thanks.
