ACES Art Enrichment
Program objectives are for each student to shift their thinking on what "art" is. In addition, students work individually and quietly to enhance their creativity which in turn ehances their learning.
This is a fifty minute class that meets five days a week for four weeks which include direct instruction and student centered learning.
At the end of the four weeks students will select and present one piece of the art to the class. Teacher and students positively critique the work.
This art class is part of the enrichment program at ACMS. 200+ students will benefit from this art class. Five historical artist are introduced through reading and viewing the artists' works. Then students replicate the work using various forms of mediums.
Sue DeCoite and I share our projects and ideas to insure that I am extending artistic concepts from 6th grade to 7th grade.
